SEC strikes 2021 soccer media days from Tennessee to Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The Southeastern Convention is shifting the league’s 2021 soccer media days from Nashville, Tennessee, to Hoover, Alabama, in July.

The league introduced the transfer Tuesday with Nashville now rescheduled to host media days in 2023.

Commissioner Greg Sankey stated Nashville’s success internet hosting the 2019 NFL draft drew the SEC to selecting Music Metropolis as a bunch for the league’s soccer media days.

”However the present atmosphere associated to the virus is not going to permit us to discover a few of the distinctive fan experiences we had hoped to pursue in Nashville for this occasion,” Sankey stated in an announcement. ”With two years to organize, we look ahead to making SEC Media Days a fair larger occasion in Nashville in 2023.”

The SEC canceled its media days in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 occasion now’s scheduled to be held on the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Resort in Hoover on July 19-22. That lodge has hosted SEC soccer media days 18 of final 19 occasions.
