NASCAR drivers to run Trans Am race at Street America

Seven drivers competing on this weekend’s NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Collection races at Street America may also run the Trans Am Collection’ TA-2 assist race on the Wisconsin street course.

The group contains Cup Collection regulars Christopher Bell, Ryan Newman and Austin Dillon; Xfinity Collection regulars Harrison Burton and Riley Herbst; and Xfinity part-timers Sam Mayer and Ty Gibbs.

The TA-2 class contains Chevrolet Camaros, Ford Mustangs and Dodge Challengers with engines restricted to only underneath 500 horsepower.

Newman, who shall be teammates with Gibbs within the TA-2 race, is trying ahead to getting extra observe time to assist him prep for Sunday’s Cup race (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC).
