Kevin Magnussen says F1 automobiles lack ‘a bit little bit of a soul’

Former Haas driver Kevin Magnussen stated a Method One automobile “lacks a bit little bit of soul” in comparison with the sports activities automobile he’s testing forward of his debut season in IMSA.

Magnussen signed as much as the North American sports activities automobile collection after failing to safe an F1 contract for 2021. After finishing his first shakedown laps of his Cadillac DPi-V.R at Sebring this week, Magnussen stated it made him realise what he had been lacking out on.

Talking to RACER, he stated: “I have been driving an airplane, principally, for the final six or seven years. Which is superior — driving an F1 automobile is nice enjoyable, however it lacks a bit little bit of soul.

“There’s one thing lacking. F1 used to have that, however coming again and driving the Cadillac DPi has been an actual eye opener. The sound and the best way the engine responds — even the monitor. Sebring, it would not get extra old-fashioned than this. It is form of a dream come true.”
