Holmes, No. 16 Indiana ladies rally previous No. 21 Northwestern

EVANSTON, Unwell. (AP) — Mackenzie Holmes scored 22 factors and grabbed 10 rebounds and No. 16 Indiana took over after trailing by 13 halfway by way of the fourth quarter to defeat No. 21 Northwestern 74-61 on Sunday.

The Hoosiers got here to life after Sydney Wooden’s layup capped a 10-Zero run to place the Wildcats up 49-36 on the 5:17 mark of the third quarter. Indiana held Northwestern with no subject objective and closed inside 54-48 by the top of the quarter.

Northwestern led 57-56 with 6:34 left within the sport when the Hoosiers reeled off 12 straight factors, with Holmes scoring seven, to steer 68-57 with two minutes to play.

The Wildcats went Three of 21 after their huge lead.

Grace Berger added 14 factors for Indiana (9-3, 7-1 Large Ten Convention), which had its earlier two video games postponed with opponents’ COVID issues. Jaelyn Penn scored 12.

Veronica Burton scored 17 for Northwestern (8-3, 6-3), which had a four-game successful streak finish, and left coach Joe McKeown one win shy of his 300th on the faculty. Lindsey Pulliam added 15 with 9 rebounds, Jordan Hamilton 13 and Wooden 12.

Whereas Northwestern was taking pictures 27% within the second half and 19% within the fourth quarter, the Hoosiers shot 58% (7 of 12) within the fourth quarter plus making 11 of 13 free throws.

Northwestern led 21-16 after one quarter and, with Burton and Wooden scoring the final minute, was up 36-33 on the half.

Indiana is residence in opposition to Michigan State and Northwestern goes to Iowa on Thursday
