Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Matiss Kivlenieks’ demise dominated unintended; case now closed

NOVI, Mich. — No felony expenses will likely be filed within the fireworks-related demise of Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks at a Detroit-area dwelling throughout a July 4 celebration, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Workplace mentioned Wednesday.

The accident occurred July 4 on the Novi dwelling of Manny Legace, who was Kivlenieks’ goalie coach with Columbus.

Kivlenieks, 24, died of chest trauma from an errant fireworks mortar blast. Police have mentioned the firework tilted barely and began to fireplace towards folks close by.
