Bayalsa United of Nigeria will participate in this year’s CAF League says  NFF

Fans and management of Bayalsa Football club have resumed celebrations following declaration from the Nigeria Football Federation NFF that the team will surly participate in the CAF competition this year.

This cheering news  is coming after speculation around the football family  expressed fear  Bayalsa Football team  United will not be allowed to participate  in the CAF confederation cup due to club licensing,

Clearing the air the secretary-general of Nigeria football federation (NFF) Mohammed Sanusi  emphasized that the club will do all the necessary things to play in the competition.

“The position is that Bayelsa United has qualified to play in the inter-club competitions and by the grace of God they will play.

“They will do the CAF club licensing,” he said.

Bayelsa United will join the other 3 clubs from the league to represent Nigeria in the inter-club competitions next season.

Bayelsa United football club made history as they won the 2021 Aiteo Cup after defeating Nigeria Professional Football League side, Nasarawa United 4-3 via penalty to take home the coveted trophy.

The winner of the Aiteo/FA Cup is guaranteed an automatic place in the CAF Confederation Cup but it does appear that such is not the case for Bayelsa United as the team did not carry out club licensing procedure with the continent’s football regulatory body, CAF.

CAF made it mandatory that any team participating in it’s Interclub Competitions must comply with and adhere to the club licensing procedures.
