African  football governing body (CAF) has said it will relocate the venue for the opening match for next year’s African Cup of nations if host Cameron  failed to meet the expected stander in the stadium.This threat  was made know by Africa soccer body secretary General Veron  Mosengo

But the host country  government  of Cameroon has responded swiftly to the threat of CAF on relocating the opening game of 2022  to another venue if Olembe stadium failed to meet the required standard by the 30th November,

The government of Cameroon has   rejected using another venue idea and maintained that everything will be put in place at the right time.
“We reaffirm the firm will of the State of Cameroon and of COCAN to respect the commitments and obligations within the framework of the reception and the material organization of the CAN TotalEnergies Cameroon 2021.
“Also, we would like to point out that in any case, the hypothesis of the relocation of the opening ceremony is not considered and cannot be accepted by the Cameroonian government.
“The latter having taken all the necessary and useful measures, on very high instructions from the President of the Republic, so that this stadium, which has already hosted its first match on September 3 (Cameroon – Malawi meeting), is in a full state of availability and functionality for the organization of the CAN TotalEnergies Cameroon 2021 in pool A as in all other pools.
Meanwhile Samuel Eto has been cleared to stand for December FECAFOOT election which will produce  the next president of the Cameroon football ahead of  AFCON competition.
